Installing the Ubisoft v1.0 to v1.3 patch- this did seem to succeed in opening a menu, but it also caused me to get hit with a 'please insert correct CD' error, which is a little problematic, as the game was purchased over GOG :/.

Downloading through GOG downloader instead of GOG galaxy (no effect).

Troubleshooting compatibility/Running in Windows compatibility mode (XP service pack 3) (no effect).

Restarting laptop multiple times (no effect).

Task manager doesn't show it running in the background after this.

Every time I launch the game, the icon will appear in my taskbar for a second, then it will simply disappear as if never clicked. I've never had a problem running any other game, but this is my first time downloading something from GOG, so I'm not sure if it's a GOG problem or a Myst problem. I'm running Windows 10, 64-bit OS with an intel graphics card. GOG help desk won't reply to my ticket either. I've uninstalled it and re-installed it about seven times now, tried every fix I could find on the internet. My partner purchased Myst IV on GOG for me as a gift last week, but since installing it I cannot for the life of me get it to run. Sorry to post this here but I'm immensely frustrated by this.
